The second event of the East Down Interclub League takes place on April 19th at Spa Lake. This will be hosted by ourselves, so we will need timekeepers, marshalls and various others for the tasks.
Registration will open at 6:30 PM with first away at 7:00 PM.
As you may know we are changing kit supplier in the near future. The design will be the same but the materials will be slightly different. The new tops will also include our two sponsors organised by Shane.
However we still have a stock of kit which needs to be sold in advance of any new orders.
To encourage our members we are willing to sell these at a loss to the club by reducing everything across the range by £10.
S/S Jerseys now £20 These are the newer jerseys without the problematic stretchy backs!
L/S Jerseys now £25
Gilets now £30

The club is sad to announce the death of a long standing member of our club. Denis Killen was one of life’s true gentlemen, and will leave a big hole in the club. Denis died after a battle with cancer and will be missed by the multitude of people who knew and loved him. The clubs condolences go to the family.
Just a quick note about the impending East Down Interclub events this year.
5th April will be the first event hosted by KCC, and will be a 2up timetrial, for those of you new to this, the 10 mile tt will be ridden by pairs, who must stay together and the time is until the latter of the pairing crosses the line.
LLRCC event will be the Spa 10 mile TT on 19th April, so we will need marshalls.
Keep an eye on the facebook page for more info, and get pedalling… LLRCC need to get more participants.
Shane ” I ate the the airbag” Savage and myself handed over £485 on behalf of the club to Homeplus,a homeless agency in Belfast at lunchtime today. This was the proceeds from the stew run.Once again thankyou to everyone who donated . I told you I would get you back Shane!
Cycling Ireland are willing to run a sprocket rocket course for kcc (& other clubs if we don’t meet minimum number 16) late Feb or March. This will either be on… a Sat or Sun (09.30–16.00). However we need to know who is definitely interested in attending first before we go to outside clubs.
PS this is not a course for riders only, it can be for parents or anybody who wishes to help with the development & coaching of children.
Thanks & add name ONLY so we can collate numbers please.
Too date we have several kcc members so we are now asking if other clubs would like to avail of this course & if we achieve the numbers, we look at getting a suitable venue & date confirmation.
Are any LLRCC members interested
“Talk & Ride” this Saturday 23rd January, starting from the Quoile car park Downpatrick at 10am. Weather permitting! All are welcome to come along and take part. This is a leisure/social spin meaning not too fast and not too slow and no one will get left behind! This is a ride designed for people who may want to take up cycling or try group cycling to experience the camaraderie, its also a great way for experienced cyclists to spin the legs and coach others. The route will be on quieter roads and the distance will be approximately 15 to 20 miles ( at the moment it would not be suitable for children and if anyone wants to bring along a minor they will have to accompanied by a legal guardian) ending up back at the Quoile car park. Helmets, lights and mudguards are compulsory as is following the rules of the road. As the theme states, conversation, craic and banter will prevail with exercise and fresh air thrown in, so just remember, not too fast not too slow so don’t be shy and give it a go! If you have not yet joined the club or renewed your membership for 2016, please let one of the LLRCC club members know, and they will point you in the right direction for club membership and Cycling Ireland licencing/insurance.
